CAN OPENER
MINISTRY
Several years ago we were invited to Mexico for Nathan to preach
at a normally there in the evening - MOST always in the daytime.
After church the pastor & his wife insisted we join them for a meal.
It never occurred to me that there wasn't electricity - but there was
one candle in each room. When it was time to open a can of Last
at a normally there in the evening - MOST always in the daytime.
service.  (Pastor's wife & myself to the right).   We're not normally
bless the women with good old fashioned can openers. Maybe the
Lord will place it on your heart also.
Check out what's
attached to each can
opener.  Each story is
at the bottom of this

CAN OPENER
MINISTRY
My goal was to share
Jesus with everyone
opener with.  Many
times I don't have a
translator with me so I
wrote the story  of my
first experience with the
hammer & knife and
shared the importance
of having Jesus in our
lives and explained the
Plan of Salvation in
Spanish.  I have
attached one to each
can opener - now there
will be no excuse to not
share HIS WORD!

The other day the van
we were riding in kept
breaking down on the
way to the church in the
dump.  Nathan had me
go ahead & walk to the
church & I was able to
hand out can openers
to a lady driving a cart &
one passing by.  We
may never know how
many will actually
receive Jesus through
this - but I believe one
day in heaven we will
meet many because of a
simple can opener!
Our friend from World Missionary
Press has been keeping us in
stock with army can openers.
While staying with a pastor in La Laguna, MX
I explained about the can openers & they
never have any canned food.
I never thought about the possibility of
folks not having canned food.
Here I was thinking I had the solution for
every woman's problem & the Lord showed
me that can openers are fine but not
necessarily necessary!
Here Nathan is demonstrating how
to use army can openers   We
found out that they can also use it
as a knife.
Nathan pulled all the men together
after church to hand out army can
openers.
Notice the hand on my back?  A
little boy was wanting a opener for
his momma.  We work hard to make
sure that the women who attended
the preaching receives one.
The card attached to the opener
shares the Plan of Salvation (in
Spanish) plus the story of why they
are receiving this.
Everyone seemed so pleased with
their gift of a can opener.  We
gave 125 away!
How many may come to know the
Lord after reading the salvation
message attached to the opener?
During Navidad
American
women were
given can
openers to
hand out.
While visiting w/our church
families we distributed canned
food.  We told the kids there was
chocolate pudding & they ran &
got the army knife we handed out
last year to open it.  Nathan
patiently opened up the gallon can
w/it.  When giving out the hand we
our church families.  Ouche wa wa!
 Were they happy when we
brought them back one.
Juanie (pink) is pastor of a
church that meets in her
home (Reynosa, MX) that is
across town from our
Dump church.  The Lord
has opened that door for
us to work w/them.  Nathan
preaches once a month
there.  We brought them
can openers also!
We forget when we bring
cans of food that they only
have a hammer & knife till
we HAVE to use them.
The mission team from Victory Park
Baptist Church (McAlester, OK)
distributed can openers in Rio
Bravo, Mexico.
THANK YOU
to New Covenant United Methodist
Church  for their donation of can
openers!  Many, many will be
distributed during the 2009
Navidad A Reynosa!
